Adds awesome length and volume… and no raccoon eyes!

I love this mascara! The consistency is very thick, so it gives my sad, thin lashes tons of volume while it lengthens. But it’s not so thick that I can’t add multiple layers to create a more dramatic look for going out. The formula sits well throughout the whole day, too, without smudging or fading. This is the only mascara that doesn’t give me the dreaded “raccoon eyes”! I won’t be buying any other mascara from now on.

Smudged

My mascara of 20 years was discontinued by the manufacturer. I have been on an almost year’s quest for a replacement. What am I looking for? A mascara that stays put and doesn’t make me look as if I have black eyes at the end of the day. After working through what feels like the entire drugstore selection of waterproof black mascaras, I’ve moved up the second tier of department and specialty brands. This one from Lancome had good ratings on a number of sites, specifically that it did not smudge. Well, it smudged. It went on nicely, and didn’t clump. The brush was easy to use. Maybe it’s my skin, but it’s not oily. Maybe it’s the sunscreen I use around my eyes, but it gets absorbed. Suffice it to say, for my purposes it just didn’t work.
